  11. This is an obsolete version of the OctaMED music editor, now released into
  12. free distribution. The latest commercial version of OctaMED is V4.0,
  13. of which wholesale distribution is handled by RBF Software.
  14.  
  15. It goes without saying realy that the latest OctaMED V4 has had so many
  16. alterations that if you intend purchasing this version you are advised
  17. to also obtain the manual as well. (see price details further on).
  18.  
  19. OctaMED  is  a  music editor, which is originally designed for making music
  20. for programs (demos, games etc..), but it works well as a stand-alone music
  21. program too.  OctaMED V2.0 is the "big brother" of MED V3.20 music editor.
  22.  
  23. OctaMED V2.0 needs Kickstart 1.2 or later, is compatible with AmigaDOS 2.0,
  24. runs on any Amiga, and multitasks correctly (even in 8-channel mode).

  39. The  icons  were designed to look nice under V2.0 of Workbench.  If you are
  40. using WB 1.x (as most people still are), the icon colours look "inversed".
  41.  
  42. First you should make a backup copy of your original OctaMED disk, and save
  43. the original in safe place.  If you want to install OctaMED on a hard disk,
  44. you  have  to remember to copy the file "OctaMED.gfx1" along with it.  This
  45. file  contains  some  graphics data required by OctaMED.  It must be in the
  46. current directory when you run OctaMED.  If WB is used, just make sure that
  47. OctaMED  and  OctaMED.gfx1 are located in the same drawer.  From CLI/Shell,
  48. you  have to 'CD' to the directory where the both files are before starting
  49. OctaMED.
